Our Family
Pastor David Mills and Bernadette Mills exemplify strong family values, with their five amazing young adult daughters as a testament to their principles. Guided by their unwavering commitment to faith and each other, they have instilled core values that promote personal growth, compassion, and a deep sense of purpose. Meet the Pastor
& 1st Lady
Pastor David Mills is a remarkable leader who serves as the Senior Pastor of Through The Word Church. With 26 years of dedicated service, he is committed to building men, marriages, and ministry. Pastor David's journey is intertwined with his high school sweetheart, Bernadette Mills, whom he has been happily married to for 32 years. Their love story began in second grade when he playfully pulled her pigtail, and they have been inseparable ever since. Together, they have raised five phenomenal millennial-age adults, consisting of four daughters and one son.
In addition to their roles as pastors, David and Bernadette are accomplished authors, business owners, and inspiring leaders. Pastor David has written six books, including two e-books titled "The Blueprint" (How to Have Great Relationships) and "Can We Get to Financial Intimacy." These insightful works can be accessed through their link. Furthermore, Pastor David holds a doctorate in Pastoral Studies from MSU University and has obtained counseling certificates from Geneva College through the CUTS program.
Bernadette Mills is an empowering force for women from all walks of life. She is the owner of High Impact Inc., which offers Women Empowerment seminars and engages in Parent Engagement in Schools. Additionally, she spearheads "High Impact Male," an annual celebration honoring men from various communities. Bernadette is not only an author, leader, and trainer but also holds degrees from Temple University and Wilmington University. Her commitment to personal growth and expertise is further demonstrated by her certificate from Harvard.
Both Pastor David and Bernadette Mills are certified counselors, equipped to guide individuals and couples through various challenges. Their passion for building strong relationships extends beyond the church walls, as they host Tailormade Marriage events nationwide and organize Date nights in the northeast region. Moreover, they host The Blueprint for Men quarterly, providing men with essential guidance in the areas of relationships, finances, and leadership.
